Hands on the wheel of a sailing yacht at sunset

Helping your graduates plan their first yacht charter

Your students finish a course and start asking where to sail next. Seeksail helps them plan a first charter abroad, from the choice of sailing area to the day they step aboard, so their training turns into a well-prepared week at sea.

What we do for your graduates

  • Sailing area and base. We match the area, the departure base and the route to the crew’s experience and the trip they want.

  • Yacht and operator. We compare suitable yachts, monohull or catamaran, and the operators that run them.

  • Total cost. We set out the charter price, the obligatory extras, the deposit or damage-waiver option and, if needed, the skipper.

  • A skipper who likes to coach. Most operators offer a professional skipper as an option. For a graduate still building experience, we will ask the operator for a skipper who likes to coach and to share their passion.

  • Operator requirements. We check what the operator requires of the skipper for that yacht and sailing area. Completing a course does not on its own guarantee charter approval, and we say so from the start.

  • Booking and preparation. We help with the booking, the payment dates, the crew list, provisioning and check-in day.

Seeksail acts as booking agent. The charter contract is between your graduate and the operator.

How an introduction works

  1. Ask the student’s permission to introduce them.

  2. Email contact@seeksail.com and copy the student.

  3. Include what the student agrees to share: destination or departure base if known, dates and flexibility, crew size, approximate budget and currency, sailing experience and qualifications.

  4. We acknowledge the introduction and take it from there with the student.

Students can also write to us directly through the charter adviser form and name your school in their request.

What your school keeps doing

Training, assessment and your students’ readiness to sail stay with you. Seeksail does not teach or assess; the operator decides on skipper approval. When a student’s experience does not yet fit the yacht or the sailing area they want, we tell them, and set out the options, such as further training or a professional skipper.

Your first yacht charter after a sailing course covers the step from course to first charter: what changes on a charter yacht, the sailing résumé, the weeks with a skipper most operators expect, four sailing areas suited to a first charter, the budget and the weeks before departure.
